Latest Third Generation G37 updates: Infiniti G37 Rumors - MotorTrend Insider Review
The G-Series is running on a production plan with new designs being released every 4-5 years. As the current design was released in 2007, the new redesigned sedan should be released in 2012, followed by the new coupe in 2013. Some have stated that the 2013 coupe may have similar lines and looks as the Essense concept, which Infiniti has already indicated is a precursor for the brand's future design direction. I would surely not dismiss this notion as the new Infiniti M-series has already been equipped with a similar grille as the Essense concept and we all know the current version of the coupe is pretty much spot-on in it's resemblence to the 2007 Infiniti Concept. So, from an exterior design aspect we do have an idea at least.
| New G-Series Hybrid As with most new models, rumor and speculation always seem to start kicking in the closer a new release date is approached and reports, along with artists renderings, have been showing up on the internet and via published magazines. One such report started late in 2009 with the speculation that a hybrid G would be released sometime in 2013. While some dismiss these early reports, the release of a M35 hybrid should have proven that Infiniti is on a quest to go green, or at least have that option. Some of us expected future hybrids as Infiniti has had at least two G-series hybrids built for testing in recent years. We can only hope that Infiniti is able to keep the price right on these models as that has been a big issue with other hybrids on the market. |

At this point, it's pure speculation on what will really be offered from a motor perspective. Edmunds reported rumors of a 2.5 liter turbo sedan, utilizing the VQ25 v6 from the Nissan Skyline 250GT, making a showing on the Fall 2010 auto show circuit. Eventually, only time will tell as those that know are keeping silent or only leaking bits at a time. I would expect much more information will be headed our way in the next 6+ months as to the design and motor changes available and whether there is a G25t or G35 Hybrid to be released along with the G37. Until that time, we can only consider the options and browse renderings that are showing up on the Internet as seen below:

Update: August 12, 2010: Infiniti announes the G25 Sedan which will be available for sale in September with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $30,950. The G25 Sedan is based upon the same interior and externals as the G37 lineup but is to be released with a 2.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 which produces 218 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. The G25 Sedan comes with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission and is available in both rear-wheel drive and intelligent all-wheel drive.
